CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA, DECEMBER 5, 2016 — Marcal, a producer of bath tissue, paper towels, napkins, is the latest company to join the How2Recycle program.
Marcal, a Soundview Paper Company, will be using the How2Recycle label on the plastic wrap surrounding its paper products. The Store Drop Off Label lets consumers know that they can recycle that package at grocery and retail stores. Plastic bags, wrap, and film cannot be recycled in curbside bins in most localities because it harms recycling equipment, but it can be recycled in retail stores like Walmart and Target across the country.
“It’s powerful to communicate to consumers that the plastic wrap around Marcal paper products can be recycled at stores, thanks to the How2Recycle label,” said Kelly Cramer, Senior Manager at Sustainable Packaging Coalition. “We are excited to welcome Marcal to How2Recycle membership, and look forward to seeing the Store Drop-off label on their products very soon.”
“Marcal, A Soundview Paper Company, LLC has always put recycling and sustainability at the forefront of our business model,” said Tara Van Der Hey, Marketing Director at Marcal. Since 1932 we have revolutionized the paper industry with recycling technology, making Marcal one of the most respected, environmentally-conscious companies in America.” Today, Marcal is led by industry veterans who are committed to producing high-quality, affordable products that are right for consumers as well as for the environment. “We are excited to partner with How2Recycle in this ground-breaking program.”
